According to the measure standard from Zhuhai municipal gardening, forestry bureau and municipal urban construction energy-saving technology company, Zhuhai can save electricity consumption 54 million per year after completing renovation 90000 street lights, with power saving 486 million KW, which is equivalent to save 170000 tons of standard coal, reducing sulfur dioxide emissions of 3150 tons and carbon dioxide emissions of 120000 tons. Calculated at 0.831 yuan/KWH, it can save electricity for 44.874 million yuan a year, with the total cost of 67.5 million yuan.
In addition to the benefit of energy conservation and emission reduction, the implementation of LED street lights project will also drive the development of LED industry. It is known that LED industry has been listed as one of strategic emerging industries of priority development in Guangdong province.
Our province takes setting up LED application demonstration project as the breakthrough for the development of LED industry. By the end of 2011, the province's popularization and application of LED lighting demonstration project was up to 250000 LED street lamps, annual output value reaching 150 billion yuan, LED lighting industry scale ranking the first place.
